The Process

Our process began by selecting a country, and I chose Egypt, having studied Arabic throughout high school and developed a deep appreciation for its culture. I then curated a mood board that reflects its ancient heritage and modern energy. Through color swatches and visual elements I laid the groundwork for a collection that captures the essence of Egypt's visual language."

Step 2

The next step in the process was taking the color swatches and symbols I had selected and using them to create a pattern. I experimented with different combinations and placements, focusing on how the colors and shapes could work together to form a cohesive design. This phase allowed me to explore various visual possibilities, ensuring the final pattern would reflect the inspiration I gathered while remaining functional for the collection.

Step 3

The next step involved taking the patterns I created and applying them to a line sheet for a brand of my choice. I selected Eddie Bauer and researched their existing designs to ensure my work aligned with their aesthetic. Using Adobe Illustrator, I created a line sheet that featured eight different designs, each in three color ways. The line sheet included price information and garment names, bringing together my creative concepts with a professional layout reflective of the brand's style.

Despite facing the challenge of having my project deleted and needing to start over from scratch, this experience pushed me to elevate my Illustrator and Photoshop skills. It taught me how to work efficiently under pressure, ensuring I met the deadline while maintaining quality. The clothes and brand I chose were a reflection of my personal style and values, allowing me to connect more deeply with the project. The inspiration for the design came from my studies in Arabic throughout high school, with Egypt serving as the cultural backdrop. In the end, Iā€™m proud of the outcome, as it not only reflects my growth in design but also my ability to adapt and deliver. This project showcased both my skill development and a piece of my personal journey.
